Terms of service.
PlateTell is run by Digital Dreamsmiths LLC, a company in Georgia, USA (“PlateTell”, “we”). These terms apply to everyone who uses platetell.com: organizers with an account and guests who open a gathering’s link. By using PlateTell you agree to them. Questions go to hello@platetell.com.
Allergy and dietary information
Dish names, ingredients and labels are written by the people who add them. PlateTell does not check them, and they may be incomplete or wrong. A dish with no allergen label is not a dish without allergens. Ingredient suggestions and filters are conveniences, not a safety system. Nothing on PlateTell is medical advice. If you have an allergy or a medical diet, always confirm with the cook or the organizer before you eat, and do not rely on PlateTell alone.
Accounts
Guests do not need an account. Organizers do, and are responsible for what happens under theirs, so keep your password to yourself. You must be at least 13 to use PlateTell, and at least 18, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission, to create an account or make a purchase. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard; that deletes your gatherings and everything in them.
Community guidelines
Use PlateTell to coordinate real gatherings and share accurate information about food. Do not post unlawful, threatening, deceptive, hateful, sexually explicit, or personally invasive content, and do not upload photos you do not have the right to share. Organizers may remove contributions from their gatherings. PlateTell may limit or remove abusive activity, automated submissions, or content that puts people or the service at risk, and may suspend accounts that do. If something on a gathering looks wrong, tell its organizer and do not rely on the disputed information until it is corrected.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you add. You give PlateTell permission to store it and show it to the people who have the gathering’s link, and to its organizers, for as long as it is on PlateTell. You are responsible for having the right to share it.
The Plus pass and the organization plan
PlateTell is free to use. The Plus pass is a one-time payment of $9 for one gathering. It does not renew, and nothing is charged again. The organization plan is an annual plan at a price agreed in writing; it covers the gatherings of its members until the end date on the agreement and does not renew on its own. Payments are processed by Stripe; PlateTell never sees your card details.
Refunds. You can ask for a full refund within 7 days of purchase if the pass or plan has not been used. Unused means the gathering has not yet taken place and no Plus feature has been used on it, such as a premium print layout, a menu theme, branding or co-organizers, or, on the organization plan, the larger guest capacity. Email hello@platetell.com from the address you paid with. A refund removes the pass or plan. Nothing here limits a right to a refund that the law gives you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep PlateTell running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. We may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version, and continuing to use PlateTell after a change means you accept it. If a change materially affects a pass you have already paid for, you can ask for a refund of that pass.
Disclaimer and limit of liability
PlateTell is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, Digital Dreamsmiths LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from food, ingredients, allergens or information that users add, and its total liability for any claim relating to PlateTell is limited to the greater of the amount you paid PlateTell in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and PlateTell agree to their jurisdiction.
